Edith Zarev
Education Coordinator and Director of SummerArts Program
Teacher and artist Edith Zarev heads up the SummerArts program for the second year. With education in art and architecture and studies in interior design and photography, she brings her deep interest in world cultures and interdisciplinary approaches to art to her programs and teaching. Her art teaching experience includes Artist in Residence with Young Audiences program, Seeds of Change in Nogales, U of A Presents, University of Arizona, MUSE Art Center in Tucson and Fort Wayne Community Schools. She joined the TCA staff in 2005.
Joshua Cicci
is a thirty year old performing artist based in Southern Arizona. He has been writing, directing and performing for stage and film for 15 years. Josh has been sharing his love for theatre and improvisation with children throughout Santa Cruz Valley for the last 7 years. He has had the privilege of sharing the stage with many talented actors and comedians, including members of Chicago's Second City, Improv Olympic and New York's Upright Citizens Brigade.
He looks forward to another exciting summer with all the kids at the Tubac SummerArts Program
Susan Corl
had been making handmade books and paper for many years. She is a member of Paperworks in Tucson and has been a member of the Arizona Commission on the Arts roster for almost 10 years. Susan is master doll maker, papier mache artist and she works with people of all ages. This past year she did an exciting book-making project that involved high school students and preschoolers. She has been member of the teaching team in Summer Arts school in Tubac for many years.
Linda Crawford
Our own Tubac resident, Linda Crawford is a successful enameling artist and teacher. She creates one of a kind jewelry. Linda taught with us last summer for the first time and inspired many kids to learn more about the art of enameling and helped them create wonderful pieces of art. We are very excited to have her teach again!
Ruby Dean
settled in Arizona over thirty years ago and soon became a local leather artisan. She studied painting and print making at the University of Arizona in Tucson and also at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. Living and working near Tubac, she is now happily nestled into the Santa Rita Mountains and maintain a life inspired by art and beauty discovered in her picturesque surroundings that she now calls home. Ruby is enthusiastic and creative teacher.
Susan Ettl
is Arizona based fiber artist. Her work is influenced by nature, especially the desert surroundings and her perpetual interest in ancient people and cultures. Susan has been teaching fiber art to adults and children. She is lives in Green Valley with her husband and very smart cat Tasha.
Kim Roach
is and interdisciplinary artist. She has earned MFA from the University if Arizona in 1993. She has taught drawing and painting, as well as mosaics and drama. Art is Kimberly’s passion and vehicle to experience and interpret this world. Kimberly has rich experience in teaching adults and children for many years. And if you want to melt her heart ask her about all her rescued pet birds!
