Art Speaks: Truth, Beauty & Goodness: the Classical Virtues in Art

Throughout the history of Western Civilization many artists in their work have sought to express the classical virtues of Truth, Beauty and Goodness derived from ancient Greece. In this talk, we will begin with a look at art from Greek antiquity, then move forward in time to consider the rebirth of these virtues as depicted in art from the Renaissance era and conclude with an examination of how modern/contemporary artists are rediscovering and reframing these classical virtues in their artworks.
