Cliff Swigget & Family
Nelda and Clif Swiggett have been playing music together since the night they first met in 1987. They raised their two sons, Dylan and Jack, in a house filled with band rehearsals and piano lessons, and by the time they were in middle school, the kids were performing at jazz clubs and private events around Seattle. Together, these four Swiggetts comprise the Swigtones, a family band performing a variety of music ranging from jazz standards to funk and R&B hits, classical compositions and more. Each member of the Swiggett family is an accomplished musician, in their own right. Nelda (piano, vocals) has headlined at many of the top jazz festivals and venues in the Pacific Northwest. She is an award-winning composer and has released multiple critically acclaimed albums. Clif (trombone, bass, percussion) grew up playing jazz trombone in New York, where he toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and performed live on the Merv Griffin Show. He has performed with salsa and rock ensembles as well as most of Seattle’s top big bands. Dylan (drums, percussion) and Jack (piano, ukulele, bass, melodica) have toured in Europe and performed at Lincoln Center with the acclaimed Garfield High School jazz ensemble. Dylan has performed and recorded with other jazz, rock, and funk ensembles including Intrinsic Factor and Circular Reasoning. Jack has received regional and national accolades for his performances of jazz and classical piano, and he writes and records genre-spanning compositions on a range of different instruments.
