Greg Wallace
Greg Wallace is a full-time professional visual artist and representational painter. Along with his creative endeavors, he now serves as President of the Sonoran Plein Air Painters organization. He also teaches painting workshops to share his experience, strategies and insights into his painting process. He grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of an artist and teacher. His formal art training was also received at the University of Wisconsin from 1974 -78, where he majored in art and art education. It was a time spent developing a strong foundation in classical drawing and painting skills. Soon after, a move in 1979 to Arizona fueled an interest in landscape painting, which eventually sparked an interest and dedication to painting on location ‘en plein air’. He currently works out of his new Studio Six Gallery space in downtown Tucson, shared with artist colleague and collaborative painting companion Denyse Fenelon. Greg’s remarkable artistic success continues to cultivate involvement in many gallery and invitational art events across the country. His gesturally poetic oil and watercolor paintings are included in corporate and private collections throughout the United States and abroad.
