Yet, preserving this fragile ecological treasure and sharing its beauty with the world requires a unique harmony between conservation and creativity. This exhibition proudly salutes the Friends of Madera Canyon, whose tireless dedication for forty years has helped keep this paradise accessible and thriving.
Heart Connections is a constellation of paintings, drawings, quilts, and installations that gathers the quiet stories of animals who lost their lives to our roads. Rachel treats each life as a microcosm—a bright light abruptly extinguished—deserving of witness. Through magical realism, their spirits rise, speaking through color, texture, and gesture, reminding us that our lives are interwoven with theirs in ways we often fail to see.
